The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is urging everyone in Mayo to ‘Go Green in 2016’ and to make environmental awareness your top New Year’s resolution. Over the festive season households in Mayo are set to produce almost 1,500 tonnes of waste — that is equivalent to 1,500 small family cars. The EPA is appealing to residents to take action and make a New Year’s resolution to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Mayo University Hospital wins two awards at the Saolta University Health Care Group Staff Achievement Awards

Staff at Mayo University Hospital received two awards at the recent Saolta University Health Care Group Staff Recognition Awards which took place on Friday November 13 at an event in the Sligo Park Hotel. A group of staff from A Ward in the hospital who dealt with a fire earlier this year and ensured the safety of patients and staff received the Unsung Hero Award.
